The UMC Utrecht Brain Center is a center that encompasses all UMC Utrecht patient care, research and education in the fields of psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation and basic neuroscience.
The UMC Utrecht Brain Center aims to be a scientific center of excellence in Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience, with a special focus on five areas of disease: stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular disorders, psychotic disorders, neuro-oncology, precision psychiatry and neurodevelopmental disorders. The research in these fields is united by five research approaches: genetic and environmental factors, structural and translational research and the trajectory from research to care.
